Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE JULIANA MACKUS (nee WONNICK) Peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, Elsie passed away at Maples Personal Care Home in Winnipeg. Elsie was predeceased by her husband William G. Mackus in 1993; parents William and Rosalie Wonnick; four brothers, one sister. She is survived by her children, Al (Roz) of England and Joyce (Don) Belton of Thompson; grandchildren, Roger (Brenda) Belton, Keith (Sheila) Belton, Susan, Ian and Leandra of England; great-grandchildren, Brittnee Belton and Kayla Belton; sisters, Erna Reckseidler, Hilda (Alf) Spicer and Esther Schalla; many nieces and nephews. Elsie was born on February 24, 1915 in Letellier, Manitoba and grew up in Rosenfield. She married Bill in 1936 and farmed in Eriksdale for 26 years. Then after moving to Winnipeg in 1963, she worked at the I.O.O.F. Home until retirement in 1976. Mom enjoyed the company of family and friends who will always remember her quiet, caring ways. She was always thinking of them before herself. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for their kindness and to Bardal Funeral Home for their service and professionalism. Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 20 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. A private interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery.
